Whipped Shea Butter & Organic Body Crème in Georgia
Keeping Your Butters, Crèmes, & Scrubs Whipped to Perfection!
At TENŌBA Bodycare we're dedicated to keeping our products 100% natural and free of harmful synthetic chemicals. Therefore, we do not use synthetic stabilizers in our whipped body crème, shea butter, or scrubs.
As a result, our delicate natural products are sensitive to temperature changes. During very warm weather, they may soften or even melt in transit as they sit in hot mail trucks and mailboxes. Melting is a natural reaction to heat and we have no control over the conditions during transit or delivery.
To educate and better equip you, below are some information, tips and tricks to keep your products in perfect condition!
WHY DOES THE MELTING PROBLEM EXIST?
Many commercial products contain phthalates to stabilize and maintain viscosity (thickness) and petroleum-based oils and waxes, cocamide DEA, cocamide MEA, and/or other additives to thicken, stabilize emulsify, and ensure their products maintain the same consistency through all temperature variations. Our natural, organic products do not contain these or any other synthetic additives. Unadulterated plant-based butters and waxes will naturally melt* at higher temperatures.
Our whipped butters, crèmes, and scrubs are high in natural oils, butters, and waxes that are sensitive to temperature changes. We formulate them to be a semi-soft solid at room temperature. When applied to warm skin, they instantly melt, providing a nourishing, penetrating, and soothing product.
*The quality of our products are not affected by melting.
WHAT WE DO TO MINIMIZE MELTING
1. When shipping during the warmer months, we use more protective, insulated packaging along with reusable ice pillows in the hope that your product makes its journey to you in its original condition. Even with the added packaging, please understand, there is no way we can control shipping delays or the high heat temperatures of summer, the mail trucks, and mailboxes.
2. During warmer weather, for those clients who need their products shipped, we recommend switching to our very light and highly nourishing 7 Seeds Body and Hair Oil. You can get them in the same exact scents as the whipped shea butter and body crème.
3. We keep every product packed for shipping cold until we deliver it to the post office.
WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT MELTING
1. Switch to our very light and highly nourishing 7 Seeds Body and Hair Oil. You can get them in the same exact scents as the whipped shea butter and body crème.
2. Retrieve your package from outdoor as soon as it is delivered.
3. Carefully open items upright and check if melting has occurred. Be careful, they may spill and make a mess!
4. If melting has occurred, do the following:
a. For Whipped Shea Butter & Body Créme: Place in the refrigerator. The melting will not affect the quality of the whipped butter or crème as a great moisturizer, but the whipped consistency will change. It will become more like a balm.
Whipping adds tiny air bubbles (just like whipping cream) that increase the size, lightens the density and changes the texture, making the butter and crème light and fluffy. When a whipped butter and crème melts, the air bubbles are collapsed and the volume is decreased. So, although the jar was filled to the top when shipped, if the butter or crème melts, there will be less volume in the jar. The jar may actually look half full.
Some customers scoop out the butter/crème and whip it with an electric mixer to fluff it up again. The butter/crème has to be very cold for this to work.
b. For Face & Body Scrubs: Place in the refrigerator. As it begins to solidify (after about 10 minutes) give it a stir and place it back in the refrigerator until firm and then remove. Again, because it is a whipped product, the container will have less volume as the whipped butter melts. DO NOT attempt to rewhip the scrub.
5. Keep products stored in a cool, dry place.
We hope this helps and remember to always Nurture your skin with Nature!
